Tiktok was recently banned in India – citing security and privacy concerns. Soon after that, Instagram Reels came into light – which has even replaced the Explore Feed today. Now, YouTube also wants to take a share of this audience which prefers short-form video content. And hence, YouTube is now launching the YouTube Shorts – A Tiktok replacement by Google.

YouTube Shorts - Tiktok Replacement

As mentioned earlier, Tiktok has been already banned in India. Also, there are talks of it being banned in the United States. So, this was probably the perfect time to launch YouTube Shorts. YouTube Shorts will allow users to upload a video clip of 15 seconds or less on the platform.

A new set of creative tools will be provided to the users to create better content – right from their smartphones. The tools which will be initially provided in the Beta release would include multi-segment camera, speed controls, large music library and a countdown feature.

These tools will help the creators to create content in the same way as Tiktok or Reels. And with about 2 billion monthly users on YouTube right now, people can try to grow quite fast on this platform. Also, YouTube Shorts will have the feature of swiping vertically to move from one video to another. And they’re even going to provide a discover feature where people can discover similar short videos.

YouTube Shorts - Tiktok Replacement

Initially, YouTube Shorts will be available in India – right from this week. As of now, it’ll be launched on Android. However, it will be soon made available for iOS devices as well. And in the near future, it will also start rolling out to other regions and with more features.

We’ll try to be on YouTube Shorts as soon as it goes live. So, make sure to subscribe to the channel.
