Apple recently held a launch event where it launched several new products. However, iPhone 12 Series wasn’t included in that event. But well, it is happening now. Apple is holding another launch event today where they are expected to launch the iPhone 12 Series.

HomePod Mini
22:35 IST: First in the line is the Apple HomePod Mini. Tim Cook just introduced it and it has a circular design – like the new Amazon Echo.
22:37 IST: Apple HomePod Mini comes with a seamless mesh design and it does look great.
22:38 IST: It comes with the Apple S5 Chip and has computational audio. Also, it has a full-range driver and delivers 360-degree sound. Multiple HomePod speakers can easily play sound in sync. And when you place two HomePod Mini in the same room, it automatically converts into stereo speakers.
22:40 IST: As it is a smart speaker, it comes with built-in Siri. With Siri, you can do everything that any smart speaker can. However, as it’s an Apple product, it has deep integrations with other Apple Products – like an iPhone. And well, you can receive personal updates directly on HomePod Mini.
22:42 IST: HomePod Mini can recognize multiple voices and provide you with personalized updates. You can also control multiple smart products directly through Siri. Not only that but you can also use HomePod Mini for Intercom. And well, it will also send the intercom messages on iPhone, Apple Watch and even AirPods. In short, Siri just got smarter.
22:44 IST: Apple HomePod Mini comes with in White and Space Grey. And it is priced at just $99. You can order it from November 6 and it will be available in stores starting November 16.
iPhone 12 Series
22:45 IST: iPhone 12 Series is here! Today is the beginning of new era of iPhones. New Generation iPhones are now equipped with 5G.
22:48 IST: Apple’s new generation iPhones can now access 5G Ultra Wideband. And it can now have peak download speeds of up to 4Gbps and peak upload speeds of 200Mbps. 5G Ultra Wideband will also provide you with extremely low latency. Verizon 5G will now be available nationwide i.e. across US.
22:51 IST: Entire new iPhone line-up will be equipped with 5G!
iPhone 12
22:51 IST: First in the iPhone 12 Series is the iPhone 12 itself.
22:55 IST: iPhone 12 comes with 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR – OLED display. It has 2x the pixels than the iPhone 11. The display cover glass is the toughest glass in the industry – and is named CeramicShield. Talking about durability, the sides are made of Aluminum with 5G bands running across the edges.
22:57 IST: iOS has been optimized for 5G as well. Entire iPhone 12 Series also supports mmWave.
22:59 IST: Apple iPhone 12 is powered by the A14 Bionic chipset – which according to Apple – is the fastest chipset in any smartphone. And well, going by the track record, that might as well be true. It’s the first chipset built on 5nm technology and packs 11.8 billion transistors. It has a 6-core CPU along with the 4-core GPU. There’s a new neural engine which now has 16-Cores and can do 11 trillion operations per second.
23:01 IST: League of Legends will arrive on the new iPhone 12 Series – thanks to the new A14 Bionic and 5G connectivity.
23:03 IST: Apple iPhone 12 comes with a dual camera setup. There’s a 12MP f/1.6 primary sensor – which is a 7-element lens – and is paired with a 12MP f/2.4 ultrawide. Night Mode will now be available on all the cameras – including the selfie shooter. Also, night mode time-lapse will be available on iPhone 12 Series. And damn, that looks amazing!
23:06 IST: With iPhone 12 Series, Apple has just introduced MagSafe for iPhones. It comes with magnets to align properly. And well, it supports 15W Wireless Charging. All the official cases by iPhone will also come with magnets and will support MagSafe. MagSafe Duo has also arrived which can charge your Apple Watch and iPhone at the same time.
23:11 IST: Apple is 100 percent carbon neutral today. And by 2030, it’ll have net zero impact on the climate. And in that direction, Apple iPhone 12 Series won’t come with earphones and power adapters. It’ll still come with a faster USB Type-C to Lightning cable though.
iPhone 12 Mini
23:12 IST: Apple now introduces iPhone 12 Mini. And it still comes with the Super Retina XDR display – but just at 5.4-inch. Everything on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 is expected to be the same – just in a smaller form factor.
23:14 IST: It surely looks like the iPhone 12 Mini might just be best selling iPhone for this generation. Even though it’s smaller, it still comes with a 1080 display – YES.
23:16 IST: iPhone 12 Mini starts at $699 and iPhone 12 starts at $799. That’s really good pricing by Apple.
iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max
23:16 IST: Now, it’s time for the Pro line-up. It has the same flat sides – like the iPhone 12 and 12 Mini.
23:18 IST: It comes with Stainless Steel sides. The display is still Super Retina XDR with CeramicShield – but the display got larger. iPhone 12 Pro comes with 6.1-inch display while the Pro Max comes with 6.7-inch display. They are powered by the same A14 Bionic chipset with Advance Image Signal Processing.
Camera Talks
23:20 IST: Apple iPhone 12 Pro will support Deep Fusion on all cameras.
23:22 IST: iPhone 12 Pro Max comes with Sensor Shift Stabilization. Pretty great to see it on a smartphone.
23:23 IST: iPhone 12 has a quad camera setup on the back. There’s a 12MP primary, 12MP ultrawide and 12MP telephoto which supports 4x optical zoom. On the other hand, Pro Max comes with a new primary sensor – which is larger and also comes with 5x telephoto.
23:25 IST: Apple has now introduced Apple ProRAW – something a Pro Photographer would always shoot in. Not only that but Apple has also introduced ProVideo – which supports 10-bit HDR video recording. And we can’t be more happy than this now.
23:28 IST: Apple iPhone 12 Pro can shoot in Dolby Vision and will display the Dolby Vision video to you – right when you are filming. iPhone 12 Pro will be ale to do this in 4K60 – which is amazing! You can now capture, edit, watch and share these videos – right from your iPhone.
23:30 IST: The fourth sensor on the back is the LiDAR. Also, it is used to improve focus at night as it can see easily in low-light scenes. It also improved Night Mode Portrait shots.
23:33 IST: Enterprises will be able to use Private 5G networks. So, your data will stay private.
Price and Availability for Pro variants
23:37 IST: It comes in 4 color variants – including the new Pacific Blue. Apple iPhone 12 Pro starts at $999 and iPhone 12 Pro starts at $1099. And the base variant will now come with 128GB storage.
23:40 IST: Apple iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro will be available for pre-orders starting October 16. And it’ll start shipping from October 23. On the other hand, iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 Mini will start taking pre-orders from November 6 and they’ll begin shipping on November 13.
