Recently, Microsoft revealed pricing of Xbox Series X as well as the Series S. At that time, we weren’t sure of what the PlayStation 5 would be priced at. However, Sony has finally revealed the price for PlayStation 5, and it starts at $399.99.

Sony PlayStation 5 price

Sony’s PlayStation 5 is available in two variants – the first being the regular PlayStation 5 and the second being the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition. The only difference between these two is the Blu-Ray disc drive. As the name suggests, that disc drive is absent on the Digital Edition – which costs $399.99. However, if you want the Blu-Ray drive, you will have to buy the regular PlayStation 5 – which is priced at $499.99.

Both variants of the PlayStation 5 have the exact same internals – unlike the Xbox Series S and Series X which have different internals. So, the PlayStation 5 will be quite a bit more powerful than the Xbox Series S – which is priced at $299. However, the PlayStation 5 will also cost $100 more than the Xbox Series S.

PlayStation 5 will be available in US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea starting November 12. For other countries except China, it will be available for purchase starting November 19. For China, Sony will announce the launch date when it gets finalized.
