Last month, Samsung revealed a new device in the S20 line-up. It was the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE – where FE stands for Fan Edition. While we knew that the device would make its way to India, we couldn’t confirm at what price. However, everything is revealed today. Samsung Galaxy S20 FE has been launched in India and the price has been revealed.
Samsung has launched the 4G variant of the Galaxy S20 FE in India. So, at its heart, we have the Exynos 990 – and not the Snapdragon 865 which is offered in several countries. It is paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. And this device is priced at ₹49,999 in India.
You have five colour options to choose from – Cloud White, Cloud Navy, Cloud Lavender, Cloud Red, and Cloud Mint. The sales will officially start from October 16. And you’ll be able to buy them from Samsung’s own online store, Amazon India and several other offline retail stores.
We would have really loved to see the Snapdragon 865 variant in India. While we aren’t expecting 5G to roll out in the near future, Snapdragon 865 does have performance advantage. Not only that but the battery efficiency is also quite a bit better on the Snapdragon 865 – when compared to Exynos 990.
Samsung has definitely started to take the Indian market seriously. We saw them launch Galaxy M51 – which was a decent offering. And now, they have just launched the Galaxy S20 FE in India at a pretty good price point. We expect better things (hopefully introduction of Snapdragon chipsets in their flagships) from Samsung in the near future.
