Samsung released the Galaxy Z Flip earlier this year. That was their second take on the folding device which was liked by quite a lot of people. However, that was launched as a completely different line-up. And that completely made sense for us. Now, they are coming up with the successor to the original Galaxy Fold – Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 – which is expected to come with upgraded displays.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 might have a 6.23-inch 819×2267 60Hz punch-hole display. It’ll be the primary display on the outside. This, when compared to the 4.6-inch screen on the original Fold does sound like a good upgrade.
For the bigger inner display, the Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to be equipped with a 7.59-inch 2213×1689 120Hz punch-hole display. Yes, it might not have that huge cut-out on the right as it would be replaced by the punch-hole cut-out for camera. Earlier, it was rumoured that the Fold 2 would come with In-display camera. However, it looks like the technology just wasn’t ready yet. So, we might just see them with the Galaxy S21 Series.
The folding display on the inner side is expected to have the same Ultra Thin Glass which we saw with the Galaxy Z Flip. Even though the display itself is glass, it won’t have the features of the glass display. That’s due to the fact that the glass would still be covered by a plastic layer.
Also, the new Galaxy Fold 2 might be equipped with an S-Pen and that makes a lot of sense. It will be a bigger device which can do several tasks which are done by a Tablet. So, having an S-Pen to go along with the device is a smart choice.
All the specs mentioned here were leaked by the Founder & CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants – Ross Young. There’s no other concrete source which is pointing towards the same. So, take all this with a pinch of salt. Sure, there are some sketches and leaks floating around on the Internet which indicates the same thing. But it won’t be right to consider these as final specs for the display.
