Truly Wireless Earbuds are all the rage these days. Xiaomi has already released quite a few truly wireless earbuds till now. Last year, they launched the Air Dots under their sub-brand – Redmi. Now, they are back with a new version. Today, they launched the Redmi Air Dots S in China and they cost less than ₹1100/$15 – directly converted from Chinese pricing.

There are just a few minor upgrades on the Redmi Air Dots S. However, the design is not one of them. The design of the earbuds has stayed the same – which is alright. These earbuds do come with a new feature – Mono Sound Output Mode. This will split the two earbuds as separate receivers and will allow you to use them like a Bluetooth earpiece.

Xiaomi also claims that the Air Dots S offer better sound transmission rates even though it’s using the same Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity. And another new feature is the low-latency game mode. Once tested, it’ll be known how good and how true these new features really are!

Remaining specs of the Redmi Air Dots S are identical to the Air Dots which were released last year. The new earbuds come with the same 7.2mm drivers – meaning no noticeable improvement in sound quality. It also continues to have DSP noise-cancelling for calls and touch controls for music as well as voice assistant toggling.

As mentioned in the beginning, the Redmi Air Dots S costs less than ₹1100/$15 when directly converted from the Chinese pricing – CNY 99. As of now, there’s no clarity on them being launched in the international market. But we might hear more about that later.
