Realme had recently launched the Realme X50 Pro 5G line-up in India. And in the last few days, we were seeing leaks about a new Realme 5G device which would be launching in China. Well, it launched today. Realme has launched the Realme X50m 5G in China – which will be one of the cheapest 5G devices in the market.

Realme X50m is equipped with the Snapdragon 765G at its heart. This chipset is one of the best premium mid-range offerings by Qualcomm and we are glad that Realme chose to use this. The chipset is paired with either 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. For power users, Realme has included a copper cooling system inside the Realme X50m which will help to reduce the temperatures.

On the display front – pun intended – the Realme X50m 5G has a 6.57-inch FHD+ 120Hz punch-hole LCD display. It’s also narrower like several other devices by having 20:9 aspect ratio. Also, if you like listening to audio via speakers, you’ll be glad to know that the device comes with Dolby Sound and Hi-Res Audio for creating an immersive experience.

That is a pill-shipped punch-hole cut-out to equip the dual selfie shooters. This includes a 16MP primary shooter with a 2MP depth sensor. If there’s a secondary sensor on the front, ultrawide is always preferable. Else, just provide people with a single selfie camera as the software can easily get the portraits you need. This is just a suggestion for every brand – and not a complain about this specific device.

There’s a quad camera setup on the back. This includes a 48MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensor. Even though a telephoto is better than a depth, this setup should be good enough as it’s a mid-range device.

Realme X50m will come with Android 10 with Realme UI skin on top. Also, it features dual-mode 5G (SA/NSA) which is great for a mid-range device. NFC and Bluetooth 5.0 are also included here.

Everything on the device will be powered by a 4,200 mAh battery which will come with 30W Dart Fast charging support through USB Type-C port. Realme claims that you’ll be able to get 70% charge within 30 minutes. Note that you’ll have to use the same Type-C port for headphones as the Realme X50m misses out on the headphone jack.

There will be two colour options: Starry Blue and Galaxy White. Also, as mentioned before it’ll have two variants to choose from. The 6GB/128GB variant is priced at CNY 1,999 while the 8GB/128GB variant will cost you CNY 2,299. Sales in China will commence on April 29.

Realme X50m is probably the RMX2142 which we have been talking about recently. We can’t confirm about that yet as we don’t have the device in our hands. However, the specifications are pretty much the same as Realme RMX2142 – which was expected to be the Realme X3. If Realme launches this device in other markets as Realme X3, it might just make sense. Else, launching another device named Realme X3 with almost the same specifications just doesn’t make sense to us.

As of now, there are no details about the international availability of the device. Hence, we’ll just need to wait for the official announcements.
