Last night, Google announced two new Pixel devices – Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G. However, Google has already confirmed that neither of them are making their way to India. But well, Pixel 4a was already confirmed to arrive in India earlier. Now, the launch date for the Google Pixel 4a has been revealed and it’s launching in India on October 17.
This was confirmed by Google itself while replying to users on Twitter as well as Instagram. When users asked about the availability of Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G in India, they were told that those devices aren’t coming to India. However, the Pixel 4a is arriving on October 17 – which might as well be the date for Flipkart’s Big Billion Days.
Google Pixel 4a is powered by Snapdragon 730G at its heart. That is paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB of Internal Storage. On the front, there’s a 5.81-inch 60Hz FHD+ OLED display with a punch-hole cut-out. This cut-out is used to equip the 8MP selfie shooter.
On the back, there’s a single 12.2 MP f/1.7 shooter in the square camera module. But well, as we have seen on previous Pixel devices, Google bets everything on the computational photography. And it works quite well.
All this is powered by a small 3,140 mAh battery. This battery can be charged at 18W through the USB Type-C Port. And you’ll still be able to plug in headphones while charging the device – thanks to the existence of the rare 3.5mm headphone jack.
We aren’t sure what Google Pixel 4a would be priced at in India. However, most of its success in India depends on that. And we’ll get to know about that on October 17 when it goes on sale on Flipkart.
