Recently, Jio revealed their new Unlimited Plans for JioFiber. When they launched, we said that those were the plans that people expected from Jio on its launch. However, it’s better late than never. Airtel – which was already offering decent plans under Xstream Fiber – has now launched new unlimited plans to compete with JioFiber.

Airtel Xsteam Fiber New Unlimted Plans

The base plan that is currently being offered by Airtel is 40Mbps which is priced at ₹499. Also, there’s a higher plan of 100Mbps plan which is offered at ₹799. For both these plans, you’ll get Unlimited Data and Calls. Also, it’ll come with Airtel Xstream 4K TV Box. Airtel Xstream will provide you the access to 10,000+ movies, shows and original series from 7 OTT apps and 5 Studios.

There are three more plans offered under Airtel Xstream Fiber. Those three includes 200Mbps, 300Mbps and 1Gbps plans priced at ₹999, ₹1499 and ₹3999 respectively. All these three plans would include Unlimited Data and Calls. Along with that, these three plans would also come with Airtel Xstream 4K TV Box. So, those 10,000+ movies, shows and original series from 7 OTT apps and 5 Studios will also be available on these plans. These three plans will also include complimentary subscription to Disney+Hotstar, Amazon Prime Video and ZEE5.

Xstream Fiber vs JioFiber

As of now, there’s no confirmation of what those 7 OTT apps and 5 Studios are. However, we do know three apps for complimentary subscription. While Airtel Xstream is providing subscription to just 3 Apps along with access to 7 OTT Apps for ₹999 and above plans, Jio provides OTT subscriptions to 11 OTT Apps for ₹999 plan and 12 OTT Apps for higher plans. That 12th app is Netflix and that’s pretty big deal.

Also, Jio is currently offering a free trial to everyone for their 150Mbps plan along with access to 10 OTT Apps. However, there’s no such trial offer for Airtel right now. Jio also undercuts Airtel for their 100Mbps plans and provides more OTT Apps subscriptions on higher plans. Airtel, on the other hand gives higher speeds of 200Mbps instead of 150Mbps available on Jio for ₹999 plan.

Do note that the Commercial Usage Policy allows for consumption of up to 3333GB for Airtel Xstream Fiber. On the other hand, Reliance JioFiber allows consumption of up to 3300GB – 33GB less than Airtel. That 33GB isn’t a big deal as about 3TB of data per month is more than enough for most users.

Overall, it looks like Reliance JioFiber still has an edge over these plans from Airtel Xstream Fiber. The new Airtel Xstream bundle will be available to customers, starting September 7, 2020.
