Realme has been giving a good competition to Xiaomi in the midrange segment. About six months ago, they launched their newest offerings – Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro. However, they are no longer the latest mid-range offerings by Realme. Today, Realme has launched the successor to the 6 Series – Realme 7 and Realme 7 Pro in India.

Realme 7

On the front, Realme went with the same 6.5-inch 90Hz FHD+ LCD panel – which was also present on the Realme 6. There’s a punch hole cut-out on the top left to equip the 16MP selfie shooter.

Realme 7

At its heart, Realme 7 is powered by Helio G95 which was just recently announced. It looks like an upgrade over the Helio G90T present on Realme 6. However, we can only confirm that after testing the devices.

On the back, there’s a quad camera setup. Sony IMX682 – a 64MP sensor is present as its primary sensor. Along with that, there’s an 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor. Realme 7 will also get the Starry Mode and would also be able to switch conveniently between AI Mode and Pro Mode for the 64MP Mode and Night Mode. It’ll receive an OTA in the near future to enable these features.

Realme 7

Realme says that the Realme 7 is splash-proof. However, there’s no IP Rating to back that claim and it’s recommended by us to keep the device away from water. Also, some of you might be glad to know that the 3.5mm headphone jack is still present on the device. And as the display used LCD technology, the fingerprint sensor is present on the side of the device.

Realme 7 comes with Android 10-based Realme UI out of the box. And all this is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery which can be charged at 30W through the USB Type-C port. Realme claims that the device can go from 0% to 100% in 65 minutes which isn’t mind blowing – but decent enough for most users.

Realme 7 is offered in two variants – 6GB/64GB which is priced at ₹14,999 and 8GB/128GB which is priced at ₹16,999. However, you can always increase the storage with the help of the dedicated microSD card slot. On the launch, it is offered in two colour variants – Mist White and Mist Blue.

The Realme 7 will go on sale through Flipkart and Realme India’s official site, starting September 10.

Realme 7 Pro

Realme 7 Pro – as the name suggests – should be a better device than the Realme 7. However, on paper, it feels like a mixed bag. Let us break it down for you so that you can judge for yourself.

Realme 7 Pro

On the front, the Realme 7 Pro comes with a 6.4-inch 60Hz FHD+ Super AMOLED panel. In one way, it’s an upgrade as it sports an AMOLED panel instead of the LCD panel. However, in other way, it feels like a downgrade from 90Hz panel on the Realme 6 Pro and even the cheaper Realme 7 to 60 Hz on the Realme 7 Pro. Realme claims that this decision was influenced by the feedback it obtained from the customers. Also, another positive of the AMOLED panel is getting an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Realme 7 Pro

The display still has a punch hole cut-out for the 32MP selfie shooter – which is an upgrade to the 16MP shooter. There’s no ultrawide selfie shooter which was present on its predecessor. On the back, Realme 7 Pro has a quad camera setup. The setup looks pretty much the same as the Realme 7 as it has the same 64MP Sony IMX682 sensor paired with 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensor. Yes, the 12MP telephoto sensor has been replaced with a 2MP depth sensor – which is not a great move.

Realme 7 Pro

At its heart, Realme 7 Pro is powered by the same processor as its predecessor – Snapdragon 720G. Even though it’s not a bad processor at all, it makes the new device feel even more underwhelming. However, there’s one upgrade to the 7 Pro. And that’s the inclusion of 65W SuperDart charging which can fill 7 Pro’s 4,500 mAh battery from 0% to 100% in 34 minutes through the USB Type-C port. That’s impressive – to say the least.

Another upgrade we can see on the Realme 7 Pro is the inclusion of stereo speakers. It also comes with the support of Dolby Atmos to give you the best experience. Also, 3.5mm headphone jack is still present on the device for better audio experience.

Realme 7 Pro also comes with NavIC and dual-frequency GPS support. It’s also splash proof and has passed TÜV Rheinland Smartphone Reliability Verification tests. It just means as much as an IP Rating would mean for you i.e. nothing much. It will also come with Android 10 based Realme UI out of the box.

Realme 7 Pro is being offered in two variants as well – 6GB/128GB priced at ₹19,999 and 8GB/128GB priced at ₹21,999. There are two colour options available for the Realme 7 Pro as well – Mirror Blue and Mirror Silver. It’ll be going on sale through Flipkart and Realme India’s official store, starting September 14.
