Oppo has been pushing out several great devices every year. This year, they have already launched the Find X2 and the Find X2 Pro. However, they’re not stopping there. So, we have yet another device which was just launched – Oppo Ace2. Oppo Ace2 was just launched with Snapdragon 865 and it also features 40W Wireless Charging.
As mentioned earlier, the Oppo Ace2 comes with the flagship Snapdragon 865 at its heart. This means that the device also comes with the support of 5G connectivity. It has options of either 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM which can be paired along with 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage.
As we have already discussed about what’s on the inside, let’s talk about the front of the device. On the front, the Oppo Ace2 features a 6.5-inch FHD+ 90Hz OLED display – same as Oppo Reno Ace – with 180Hz touch sampling rate. Much like the Find X2, we have a punch hole cut-out on the top left corner which equips the 16MP selfie shooter.
Going to the back side, we can see a huge bump protruding out of the body. This is for the quad camera setup on the Oppo Ace2. This setup includes a 48MP primary shooter paired along with 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor. This isn’t the best camera setup – on the paper, at least – but it should be good enough for most people. We would have loved to see a telephoto camera instead of a depth sensor though.
All this will drain power from the 4,000 mAh battery. And this battery pack can be recharged quickly with the 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast wired charging or even 40W AirVOOC wireless charging. Yes, you read that right. The device is not only capable of 65W fast wired charging but also 40W fast wireless charging. Oppo claims that the device can be fully recharged within 56 minutes.
However, you’ll need to buy the proprietary charging pad which even has a built-in fan to maintain the temperatures while charging. This shouldn’t be much of a problem though – because of two reasons. First reason is the charging speed while the second reason is the price. Yes, this is a proprietary 40W Wireless Charger which would be sold separately for just CNY 249. As of now, this charger will only be able to work with the Ace2.
On the software side, we have ColorOS 7.1 running on the Ace2 – which is based on Android 10. The Ace2 also comes with Wi-Fi 6, NFC as well as 10W reverse wireless charging – which are rarely seen in this price range.
Talking about the price, the Oppo Ace 2 will start at CNY 3,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant. You can also get the 8GB/256GB variant for CNY 4,399 or the 12GB/256GB variant for CNY 4,599. There are three colour options for you to select – Black, Blue and Purple.
You can already pre-order it if you want. However, the official sales will commence from April 20. As of now, this device is only launched in China and it’s unknown whether it’ll make its way to other markets. But if it does, we’ll try our best to cover it.
