Realme announced their Realme X50 5G line-up of devices earlier this year. But those devices were priced a bit too high to appeal the youth of the nation. However, Realme is on its way to solve that by revealing the Realme X50 Youth Edition. A recent leak has pointed that the camera array might be downgraded on the Realme X50 Youth Edition.

The Realme X50 Youth Edition will still sport a total of six cameras on the device. On the front, there will be a dual camera setup – 16MP primary paired with a 2MP depth sensor. And there will be a quad camera setup on the back. This will include a 48MP primary paired with 8MP ultrawide and two 2MP sensors – possibly macro and depth sensors.

If this entire setup sounds strikingly familiar to you, then we would like to tell you that it’s the same setup which was leaked earlier today with the Realme X3 specifications on TENAA. Maybe, the listing on TENAA which we are speculating as the Realme X3 is just the Realme X50 Youth Edition.

Coming back to cameras, the setup on the Realme X50 5G was quite better. It had 8MP ultrawide on the front instead – which is obviously more useful than a depth sensor. Also, on the back, it was equipped with a 64MP primary paired along with 12MP telephoto, 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro. All these different modules were able to cover different focal ranges – making the entire setup much more useful.

However, the degrade in the camera setup was expected as the Youth Edition is expected to lure youth. And making a device cheaper while still keeping it powerful is an important task if you want to lure the younger generation to buy the device. The Realme X50 Youth Edition is still expected to support 5G as well as 30W fast wired charging – same as what we saw in the TENAA listing of RMX2142 – which we were speculating to be the Realme X3.

We’ll get to know more about the device in the future. Only then we’ll be able to say if these compromises in the camera department are worth it or not.
